Introduction

The national level Common Law Admission Test which is also commonly known as CLAT is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to 21 prominent National Law Universities in India and other private universities. The Exam is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admission to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses and the candidates who pass the exam can apply and enter these programs. More than 60 thousand candidates register for this exam and more than 55 thousand candidates appear every year for a chance to be a part of those prestigious institutes that participate in this exam.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the eligibility criteria of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) candidates appearing for this exam have to meet the age limit, educational qualifications, and the qualifying exam that are accepted by CLAT. Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria only should apply for the entrance exam. Educational Qualification

Candidates who have passed or appeared in the 10+2 board exam in any stream from any recognized board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE, or their equivalent are eligible

Minimum marks required in the qualifying exam for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, OCI candidates

45% marks or equivalent grade is required as minimum marks

Minimum marks required in the qualifying exam for SC and ST candidates

40% marks or equivalent grade is required as minimum marks

Application Process

Step 1 Registration

The Candidate Log on to the Official website of CLAT and to register yourself, you must provide all the details such as your name, email id, mobile number, and other details in order to register

Step 2 Filling the form

The next step is to fill details in the application form for Common Law Admission Test with more information like personal, academic, communication, and others along with the required details including the program of study

Step 3 Uploading documents

The candidates must upload the relevant documents in the application form as per the required format, here are the documents required


Photograph in Maximum 500 KB size and jpg/jpeg format

Signature in Maximum 100 KB size and jpg/jpeg format

State domicile certificate in Maximum 2 MB size and PDF format

Step 4 Application fee

The final step is to fill the application fee, which is INR Rs. 4,000/- General/ OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, OCI category and Rs. 3,500 for  SC/ST/BPL category. Applicants can pay the application fee through net banking, credit, and debit cards
